How to use AI Report Writer
Quick start in two minutes
- Choose a template. In the Report Writer, select your Template (or set the active one in Template Manager).
- Fill the basics. Enter student name, class, trimester, register, tone and perspective.
- Rate and describe. Use the 1-10 sliders for ratings, tick Character traits and Areas to improve.
- Generate. Click Generate Full Report for a draft, and Get Improvement Ideas for practical strategies.
- Refine & deliver. Use Edit with AI to polish; copy the final text to your system.
Choose the layout that suits your workflow
The default step-by-step mode guides you through three clear stages: gathering context, rating performance, and generating outputs. Navigation indicates whether you are on Step 1, 2, or 3.
Single-page mode displays everything at once. It is ideal for quick data entry when you already know the student details and want to move fast.
Key fields at a glance
- Template controls available ratings, traits, areas and languages.
- Language sets the language for headings and body copy.
- Report tone adjusts the voice: neutral, friendly, empathetic, concise, or growth-focused.
- Perspective swaps between third person ("she") and second person ("you").
- Ratings (1-10) influence the balance of praise and development points.
- Character traits highlight personality cues you want to surface.
- Areas to improve drive the improvement strategies the AI suggests.
- Other points lets you add bespoke context or classroom anecdotes.
- Salutation controls the closing sentiment for the report.
Templates: build, manage, share
Template Builder
Create or edit templates: add rating fields (sliders 1-10), define Character traits and Areas to improve, and set available languages. "Select all" helps when you want everything enabled.
Template Manager
Manage your templates: set Active, Duplicate, Export, or Delete. Use the Actions menu; default templates can't be deleted.
Community Sharing
Share your custom templates from Template Manager or the Community page (Post Template). Your display name is shown as the author. Browse, preview and import community templates.
Generate, refine, deliver
Create the draft
Run Generate Full Report after completing the required fields to produce a tailored narrative.
Plan next steps
Select Get Improvement Ideas to transform low-scoring areas into practical actions.
Polish and share
Fine-tune tone, emphasis, or length in Edit with AI, then copy the ready-to-send version.
Troubleshooting
- No report appears: double-check required fields (name, language, tone, trimester) and try again.
- Edits are not applied: give precise guidance such as "shorten by 20%" or "more encouraging tone", then regenerate if needed.
